The Association for the Physically Disabled (APD) Greater Johannesburg has launched a Barrier Breaker (BB) Campaign in the lead up to the International Day of Disabled Persons on December 3, 2005.

This includes a goodwill SMS message campaign aimed at establishing a world record for the largest number of virtual balloons released into cyber space.

Participants have to SMS “APD” to 36831 and a virtual balloon will be stored on BB's website (www.bb.org.za ). Each SMS costs R5. The cyber balloons will be released into cyber space at midnight on December 31. All proceeds go to the APD in aid of people with disabilities.
