southern Florida. "I'm going through this while "Its Rev Me Up is basking in the sun," Benoit said with a laugh. "And Tom Howard who owns our HMS Kennel, is visting his family up in Boston, where it's been raining all week." Benoit plans a return to Bridgeport, with Its Rev Me Up along, too. Julia Ward, who owns Its Rev Me Up will be sending a number of young dogs from her Kansas farm to Sarasota for the winter season. Many of them could join the star of the kennel north to Shoreline in late April. Last weekend's rains also put a damper on Shoreline's "Pups Without Partners" open house at the kennel compound. More than an 100 racers were up for adoption.

"We're planning another weekend similar to it," Penny Zwart, adoption coordinator, said. "Although we always have dogs on hand for whom we look for loving homes, the number increases dramatically when the racing season ends. But we've always been successful in our effort and I'm confident we'll succeed again." Persons interested in adopting a greyhound should contact Zwart at 576-1976, ext. 342, or visit the web site www.pupswithoutpartners.org.
